Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchin s of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced annually to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to improving the lives of children in our group.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary faculty teacher and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and leading a profitable community-driven marketing campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, making certain protected and inclusive play spaces for all youngsters.
The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will feature speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
